Research and Development Engineer

Panther Life Sciences is focused on unlocking the biological powers of the skin through innovative microneedle array patch technologies. They are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist/R&D Engineer to support the development and scale-up of these technologies, conducting analytical testing and optimizing manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize novel manufacturing processes, including mold casting, drying, curing, and sterilization techniques
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support scale-up activities from lab to pilot scale
Assist senior team members with daily tasks
Conduct mechanical testing and dimensional analysis on MNA patches
Perform chemical or biochemical assays to evaluate content uniformity, stability, or degradation
Document and interpret data to assess impact of manufacturing changes on product quality
Maintain accurate and organized lab notebooks, batch records, and process documentation
Contribute to the drafting of SOPs, technical reports, and regulatory submission materials as needed
Adhere to internal quality and safety standards
Maintain laboratory supplies and organization
Order and track all purchases while working with vendors and representatives for pricing

Qualification

Required

B.S. or M.S. in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline
0–3 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment (academia, industry, or internship)
Familiarity with polymeric materials, hydrogels, microneedles, or drug delivery systems is highly preferred
Experience with analytical tools such as microscopy, mechanical testers, HPLC, or spectroscopy
Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and communication skills

Preferred

Knowledge of sterilization techniques
Familiarity with process validation or GMP/GxP environments
Experience with protein-based systems or biologic drug delivery, with a preference for those skilled in HPLC and Mass spectrometry
Understanding of sterilization techniques
