Commissioner for Trademarks
The United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) is headquartered in Alexandria, VA. The Commissioner of Trademarks will oversee all aspects of the Trademarks organization and serve as the primary agency official for Trademarks, interacting with various stakeholders to ensure the trademark system operates effectively.

Responsibilities
Overseeing all aspects of the Trademarks organization
Developing and monitoring consistency with the policy guidance used to evaluate applications
Managing the systems, records, and customer services that support the entire trademark life cycle
Leading the examination of applications and review of maintenance filings
Overseeing initiatives to modernize and stabilize the IT infrastructure and systems that support trademark filing and examination
Establishing the vision for the future of the Trademarks organization and mapping out vision-oriented initiatives
Engaging with members of the public, officials of other Government agencies, Department of Commerce and Patent and Trademark Office employees, members of Congress, and foreign government officials
Qualification
Required
The educational requirement for this position is a law degree and membership in good standing of the Bar of any state
Must be a U.S. Citizen
If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so
A Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-278, and the supplemental form, Confidential Statement of Employment and Financial Interest is required within 30 days after the selection for this position
Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
May be subject to pre-employment and random drug tests
