Responsibilities

Define, develop, implement, optimize and own rocket engine assembly, integration, and test processes
Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware by developing manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the following manufacturing processes: receiving inspection, fabrication, assembly, test, integration, and refurbishment
Closely manage build sequence, cost, quality and schedule of hardware on a daily basis throughout the entire manufacturing process
Conduct DFMA and PFMEA studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design and build
Perform root cause analysis when non-conformances and escapes are identified and deploy corrective actions
Create and maintain BOM’s, routings and work instructions for engine assemblies
Create/modify manufacturing work instructions to disposition Non-conformances quickly
Utilize lean manufacturing methodology for process development and problem solving
Design, procure, install, and qualify custom manufacturing equipment/fixtures
Troubleshoot and operate equipment as required
Travel required for training and other support activities about 10%
Collaborate closely with internal customers (M&P engineers, test technicians, manufacturing engineers, management and design/analysis engineers) to define requirements and align tools to meet company objectives

Required

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university
3+ years direct manufacturing and manufacturing engineering experience
Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T
Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)
Can demonstrate creating English work instructions for technicians and inspectors
Ability to develop processes compliant to industry quality systems such as AS9100
Must be able to work weekends and have flexibility to move shifts as needed on occasion
Open to working extended hours when required
Attention to detail and drive to deliver results
Passion for rockets, space, the team, and our mission is a must!

Preferred

Extensive prior experience in high-rate assembly lines for aerospace and/or automotive is preferred
