The Engineering Director will lead the engineering organization, focusing on the design, development, and delivery of semiconductor capital equipment while ensuring compliance with global standards and driving innovation.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a high-performing cross-functional engineering team (mechanical, electrical, software, process engineering)

Define and implement engineering roadmaps aligned with company growth objectives

Champion best practices in design for manufacturability (DFM), quality, and scalability

Oversee development of next-generation ALD-based semiconductor equipment

Ensure compliance with SEMI S2/S8, ISO 9001, CE, and global regulatory standards

Drive continuous improvement in tool reliability, performance, and cost optimization

Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to enable global manufacturing scale-up (Colorado R&D, Taiwan mass production, global service)

Work closely with Sales and Service teams to translate customer requirements into engineering solutions

Provide technical guidance and support for customer escalations and field issues

Lead engineering project management, ensuring milestones, budgets, and timelines are met

Establish metrics (OEE, reliability, yield, time-to-market) to measure engineering performance

Drive root-cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies for field and production challenges
