Student Compost Technician - Miller Center

Auburn University is seeking a student to assist with operations related to the FOR Solutions composting system at the Miller Center. The role involves transporting food waste, monitoring composting processes, and maintaining a clean working environment.

Responsibilities

Transporting food waste from main campus to the Miller Center using a university owned pick-up truck with hydraulic lift gate
Transporting finished compost product back to main campus or other designated areas
Weighing and loading food waste and carbon sources into the FOR Solutions composting system
Monitoring the internal temperature of the FOR Solutions composting system
Collecting and submitting compost samples to designated laboratories
Maintaining a clean working environment
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualification

Lift 50lbsPush/pull 250lbsMaintaining clean environmentMonitoring compost temperature

Required

Currently enrolled as an Auburn University student
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass an MVR
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Must be able to work at least 12 hours a week

Preferred

Ability to push/pull containers weighing up to 250lbs
