Responsibilities

Builds and maintains strong relationships with Owner, Architects, Engineers, Project Team, and Subcontractors
Communicates regularly with all team members regarding project development progress, open and closed tasks, and issues by creating a detailed development plan
Prepares calculations to establish appropriate sizing for infrastructure, equipment, and distribution
Research, verify, review, and become familiar with local, state, and national code requirements
Develop detailed Scopes of Work, Specifications, and Preliminary Implementation Schedule
Facilitate subcontractor pre-bid meeting and facility walk-thru and address any Requests for Information on General Construction items
Receive subcontractor bids and review for completeness
Finalize costs and access project risk with the Project Team. Build the Final Project Estimate
Assemble schematic/design development package for transfer to third-party Engineers for design assistance, contract documents, or code review
Assist with the Final Contract preparation by creating contract documents including scope and energy saving attachments
Perform energy calculations comparing new and existing equipment/systems
Support the Project Manager as required during Construction
Other duties, such as development of associated building improvement measures, as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering or related field; or three+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid driver's license required
Experience with Microsoft Office suite
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients
High level of organization and attention to detail
Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed

Preferred

Engineer in Training (EIT)/Professional Engineering (PE) path preferred
AutoCAD/Revit experience desired
Read/interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
Experience with design of education/or government projects highly desired
Energy Engineering experience a plus
Mechanical internship(s) a plus
Experience with geothermal systems a plus
Ideal candidate would have at least five years of experience and be willing to learn/train on required software (independent learning will be required)
