Responsibilities

Creating technical drawings for engineering design
Aiding purchases of small and large value engineering components
Assembling and testing new machines for clients in the DME workshop
Assembling parts (such as metal fabrications, cylinders, hydraulic hoses) using typical manual tools such as spanners, sockets, metal files and similar
Assembling and testing bespoke electrical panels and similar for our clients within the DME workshop
Installing components and wiring panels from engineering technical drawings

Must be a Sealaska shareholder, descendant of a shareholder, or spouse of a shareholder
Ability and willingness to travel internationally
Commit to 7-week program timeline (1 week in Alaska, 6 weeks in Ireland and Northern Ireland)
Must have a valid passport
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Must be 20 years or older at time of fellowship
Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary school/program or a recent graduate (1-2 years)
Must be able to perform computer-based tasks and processing for up to 8 hours, including sitting or standing, mousing, interacting with information on a computer monitor
Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25 pounds regularly
Bending or standing as necessary

Preferred

At least a 2.5 GPA
Completed at least one year of the Sealaska Internship Program
Strong critical thinking and research skills
Self-starter with ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
Good computer skills and 3D spatial awareness
Good communication skills & attention to detail
