Responsibilities
Advance research within the department of Neurosurgery, Mayo Clinic Arizona (MCA), and Mayo Clinic enterprise, in alignment with strategic priorities
Play a vital role in advancing scientific discovery in neuro-oncology and neurovascular neurosurgery
Foster innovation and support the translation of research into clinical practice
Recognized as a thought leader in neuro-oncology and/or neurovascular disease research
Demonstrate a strong commitment to team science and mentorship of junior faculty toward independence
Foster collaborations between clinical and academic research departments
Hold a leadership role in an aligned research department and actively contribute to enterprise-wide research/translational activities
Integrate well and actively build collaborations with scientists, clinician investigators, and clinicians engaged in research (CER) at MCA
Strengthen enterprise-wide strategic collaborations and initiatives
Qualification
Required
Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D. (or equivalent degree)
Outstanding credentials in a neurosciences discipline
Sustained track record of success in extramural funding (current R01 or R01-equivalent funding as PI)
High-impact publications
Demonstrated record of collaboration with scientists and clinicians
Preferred
Commitment to mentorship, education, and the advancement of scientific knowledge in neurosurgery
