NEOGOV is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern to help execute the County's communications plan. The role involves creating marketing materials and digital content, as well as providing administrative support to the assigned department.

Responsibilities

Create marketing and communications materials including but not limited to fliers, press releases, social media posts, website posts, etc

Assist with planning details of special events

Assist in raising awareness of the County’s services and program

Assist with building a following on all major social media channels using organic and paid advertising

Develop and execute social media campaigns. Research, analyze, and suggest new solutions which will help reach our goals

Other assignments as needed

Conducts special studies, research, and projects at the request of the department

Establishes and maintains program and project files

Receives and resolves or refers citizen complaints to the proper authority

Screens incoming calls and visitors to determine necessity for call or visits

Screens routine correspondence for the department

Prepares correspondence and recurring reports

Reads and reviews outgoing correspondence for procedural and grammatical accuracy plus conformance to general policy

Takes and transcribes a variety of dictation and correspondence

Establishes and maintains working relationship with county officials, news media and the general public

Arranges for conferences or meetings and provides participants with the topics to be discussed background information

Entrusted with confidential information which pertains to county matters under consideration and personnel involved

Coordinates participation at meetings, boards, special events, speaking engagements, and participation on different County and community events and committees

Assists with maintaining department’s appointment calendar

Keeps and maintains inventory of office equipment and supplies

Keeps and maintains records of office payroll and time reports

Performs other duties as required by the department

Travels within the county, using personal vehicle at personal expense

Commits self to providing excellent customer service and demonstrate commitment through cooperative team and individual efforts

Creates a high quality work culture through participation in and emphasis on training and mentoring to develop leadership, management, and technical skills in self and all employees, including safety related training and skills
