Responsibilities
Determine the status of service needed for various Caterpillar equipment components (transmissions, engines, fuel systems, differentials, axles)
Perform complex repairs correctly such as teardown, inspection, repairs, test running, and/or painting of diesel engines in a shop environment
Perform the necessary service, repairs, replacements, installations, or re-building of parts and to restore the equipment to proper operation
Promptly, at start of shift, review work schedule, check equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, and prepare for operations
Perform repairs needed to system component(s) (fuel Systems, Drive Train, etc.)
Order or obtain from stock the appropriate parts needed to make the repairs
Install, replace, re-build or repair the component and/or equipment in a timely manner and according to specifications
Test the part or equipment and perform quality check after work is complete
Responsible for high quality repair service on equipment and engines, responding to customer needs in a positive, safe and timely manner, and ensuring maximum value for work performed
Qualification
Required
5+ years of engine rebuild within Caterpillar machines
Diagnosing and repairing components such as Engines, Transmissions, Axles, Fuel Systems, and Differentials
Certificate of completion or degree from a community college or technical school
Five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Perform complex repairs correctly such as teardown, inspection, repairs, test running, and/or painting of diesel engines in a shop environment
Perform the necessary service, repairs, replacements, installations, or re-building of parts to restore the equipment to proper operation
Review work schedule, check equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, and prepare for operations
