Mechanical Engineer- Hydraulics Specialist

Responsibilities

Lead hydraulic system design, testing, and implementation for new and existing production lines
Troubleshoot and resolve hydraulic and mechanical equipment issues to minimize downtime and improve performance
Support new part number launches and capital projects through process development and technical problem-solving
Identify and execute process improvements that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for hydraulic or mechanical failures
Develop preventive maintenance plans and collaborate with maintenance and operations teams on execution
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to cross-functional teams on hydraulic and mechanical best practices
Support standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the department

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field required
3–5+ years of hands-on experience working with hydraulic systems (design, maintenance, or troubleshooting)
Proficiency with hydraulic components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, actuators, and manifolds
Experience using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for mechanical and hydraulic design
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, ergonomics, and process improvement methodologies
Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills

Preferred

Knowledge of fluid power principles and IFPS certification
