Senior Principal RF Range Engineer

Responsibilities

Develop antenna, radome, advanced sensor systems, and/or RCS ranges/chambers
Work with interdisciplinary engineering teams including thermal, structural, mechanical, systems, etc.to define, analyze, simulate, implement, and evaluate requirements for ranges and/or chambers, including relevant test equipment
Work with chamber/range equipment and service suppliers
Oversee implementation of new ranges/chambers

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 8 years of experience to include any combination of the following:
Testing of antennas or radomes in a chamber or test range
Operation of an antenna, radome, and/or RCS chamber/range
Demonstrated knowledge of antenna and/or sensor measurement theory and range operation
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
DoD Clearance: Secret

Preferred

Master of Science (MS) or PhD in electrical engineering
Significant experience simulating and/or estimating the effects of propagation, reflections, and scattering on an antenna under test (AUT) in an anechoic chamber
Measurement of hardware for RCS
Significant experience specifying, building, and validating antenna, radome, and/or RCS ranges/chambers
Proficiency with Python, MATLAB and/or other high level scientific programming languages
Proficiency with high performance computing (HPC) environments and schedulers such as SLURM
Proficiency with modeling & simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, FEKO, SENTRi and GRASP
Experience designing and testing conformal antennas
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities from multiple sources
Strong interpersonal skills working in a team environment with positive interaction
Demonstrated ability to put forth and drive technical execution plans
Knowledgeable of management processes, such as Earned Value
Experience presenting in technical reviews
Understanding of near-field-to-far-field processing algorithms
Experience designing datalink, flight termination, telemetry, and/or GPS antenna systems
Experience being a Cost Account Manager or Integrated Product Team Lead
