Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
Providing Data support to teams across the company
Providing responsive database operational support and modernizing data warehouse and reporting solutions
Being part of a team with cross-divisional responsibility for Data Warehousing, Data Self Services, Big Data and Data Science within a regulated environment
Fully understanding all components of data architecture (physical/logical replication, monitoring, provisioning, performance tuning at both SQL/system levels, etc.)
Identifying needs and opportunities and designing solutions, then implementing and deploying them, following up with ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Minimum 4+ years' experience with database administration including operation, administration (patching, backup/restore, replication), and SQL performance tuning
Expert understanding of how database internals function (Write-Ahead Logging, Point-in-time recovery, database optimizers, query planning and optimization, etc.)
Strong Linux experience
Excellent communication skills
Experience using JIRA, Confluence
Bachelor's degree or higher in CS, MIS, Mathematics, or related field
Familiarity with cloud technologies like AWS' data offerings
Up to date with latest developments in database technology (PostgreSQL or whichever RDBMS they work with most frequently)
Experience building ETL Pipelines
Capable of being part of a team with on-call responsibilities for after-hours emergencies
Preferred
Experience with data obfuscation (masking)
Experience migrating data solutions from on-premises servers to Cloud
Experience using Python and/or R
Familiarity with Ansible and Terraform
