The Proposal Lead Engineer will support the Business Development Team in developing compliant proposals, engaging with customers, and coordinating technical discussions and proposal reviews.

Responsibilities

Leads engineering teams with development of technical approach development, risk assessment, compliance matrices, hardware utilization matrices, and project plans (WBS) and costs
Coordinates proposal reviews and closing of action items
Handles complex proposals and ensures proposal compliance
Aligns and uses Karman’s portfolio to meet customer requirements
Engages in customer technical discussions and extend technical support to business development team
Writes, compiles and manages all proposal documents, requirements, and checklists
Develops business development documents including proposal templates, RFI responses, and customer presentations
Implements Business Development team strategies to capture opportunities
Responsible for proposal log tracking and on-time proposal submittal

Required

Must be a U.S. citizen
10-20% Travel Required

Preferred

B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related field
2+ years experience engineering at Systima or 5+ years engineering experience in space or defense industry
Experience managing teams and/or projects
Experience with customer presentations
Exposure to concept development, technology application, and program planning
Ability to communicate effectively with both written and spoken forms
Ability to develop, plan and execute programs
