Paraprofessional – Leonard R. Flynn Elementary
Mission Graduates is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the number of K-12 students in San Francisco’s Mission District who are prepared for and complete a college education. The Paraprofessional will assist in the direct delivery of instruction in a classroom setting for students with moderate to severe impairing conditions, implementing lesson plans and supporting the educational needs of the pupils.

Responsibilities
Must be able to work Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays: 2:00-5:00 pm and Wednesdays 1:00-5:00 pm
Utilizes knowledge appropriate to satisfy the Distinguishing Characteristics of the class listed above, examples of which may include familiarity with teaching methods, instructional media, test scoring, school organization, and school rules and regulations
Demonstrates competency in performing the following tasks: working with pupils who have been designated non-severely impaired by an IEP, acting quickly and effectively in emergencies, working with and relating to all individuals within the culturally diverse environment of the school community
Developing and maintaining effective, courteous communications with pupils, staff, and the public
Qualification
Required
4 years of proven experience and ability in working in education and/or youth programs
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the best practices in youth development program planning, curriculum development, methods of teaching, and evaluation
BA or BS required
TB test clearance is mandatory prior to hire
Experience working in communities of color with low-income populations
