Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain critical system software components for the US Department of Defense. The role involves developing software for an advanced synthetic training environment, supporting pilot training against potential threats, and enhancing the functionality of the Next Generation Threat System (NGTS).

Responsibilities

Developing software for an advanced synthetic training environment

This software is integrated into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats

Support software development, software integration, customer training and demonstrations

Demonstrates a knowledge of standard programming algorithms, design patterns, and object-oriented software design

Evaluate and review C++ language code

Programming using C++, C, Python 3

Develops parallel processes, threading, process communication

Utilizes Git for daily code management, including branching, merging, and resolving conflicts within a collaborative development environment

Works proficiently with Git in both Bash (Linux) and Windows environments

Interacts with remote repositories, pushes code updates, and manages local repositories

Adheres to established branching strategies and understands the implications of working with master/production branches

Collaborates with team members to design future enhancements

Familiarity with time-series analysis a plus

Required

Must have at least 5 years of C++ and software engineering experience with a Bachelors in CS/CE or a related Engineering, Math, or Physics field. OR 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; OR 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience

Extensive experience with object-oriented software design and development, particularly in C++

Experience working with Git version control system, including branching, merging, and conflict resolution

Proficiency working in a Linux command-line environment (Bash)

Able to successfully manage competing tasks and priorities

Strong oral and written communication, troubleshooting and organizational skills

Must be able to work in a team environment

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance

Must have have an active Secret clearance to be considered

Must be a US citizen
