Responsibilities

Develop test plans, test procedures, and schematics for system and subsystem-level mechanical tests on the Orion spacecraft and test articles
Learn and understanding the Orion spacecraft assembly, integration and test flow and the associated processes including test execution, anomaly resolution, and paper closure
Execute test procedures on current flight articles (Artemis III and Artemis IV) and future vehicles under Orion production
Collaborate with team members across the program including systems engineering, CPEs/RSEs, software, test labs, manufacturing, quality, and NASA
The work will involve acceptance testing, environmental testing and ground servicing of flight hardware (including fluids & pneumatic systems, mechanical structures and mechanisms) at the assembly, subsystem and spacecraft level of assembly
Test activities will primarily take place at Kennedy Space Center, but the position will be required to support test efforts at other locations for periods of time

Required

Bachelor's degree (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field preferred) or equivalent experience/combined education
Willing to work extended hours, including second/third shifts and weekends, in support of test activities
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance

Preferred

Willingness to travel to other LM Space campuses to perform Test Engineering activities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain effective cross-functional relationships and an ability to work and lead in a team environment
Certified Test Conductor (CTC) training
Experience with structural, environmental or pneumatic testing
Familiarity using Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (pneumatic or fluids loading panels)
Familiarity with fluid systems, such as Propulsion or Environmental Control and Life Support
Experience writing test plans, test procedures, or technical documents
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, schematics and test specifications for testing of aerospace hardware
