Hardware Engineering Technician
HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Hardware Engineering Technician to support the Advanced Hardware Engineering team. In this role, you’ll support hardware development efforts, working hands-on with electrical subsystems to enable fast, efficient prototyping and validation in a dynamic R&D environment.

Responsibilities
Assemble, modify, and document cable harnesses and test setups
Perform soldering and PCBA rework on wires (00–35 AWG), SMD chips (0201+), and ICs (QFN, BGA)
Build and maintain test setups, perform modifications, and support test execution and documentation
Manage lab inventory, equipment, and consumables, including part ordering
Maintain a safe, organized lab environment and contribute to ongoing improvements
Qualification
Required
6+ years of hands-on experience as a hardware or electronics technician
Proficiency in cable harness assembly and familiarity with common connector types
Experience assembling, inspecting, debugging, testing, and repairing PCBAs and cable harnesses
Ability to read electrical schematics, circuit board files, BOMs, and engineering drawings
Experience using electrical lab tools (soldering irons, DMMs, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc.)
Comfortable with basic workshop and hand tools (crimpers, wire strippers, torque drivers, calipers, drills, etc.)
Ability to manage and maintain an organized lab space
Preferred
Certifications such as IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, J-STD-001, or IPC-7711/7721
Associate degree or higher in electrical, electronics, or mechanical technology (or equivalent)
Automotive industry experience (ECU assembly/testing, SAE standards)
Experience working with external vendors for equipment procurement or maintenance
Familiarity with Python scripting and Linux command line environments
Experience creating or redlining harness diagrams and writing technical documentation
Experience performing failure analysis and quality inspections on PCBAs and harnesses
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
