Director of Project Management
Hardy Corporation is a large, family-owned business based in Birmingham, AL, specializing in commercial HVAC and Plumbing since 1943. The Director of Project Management will lead the PM team, develop customer relationships, oversee project compliance with quality and safety standards, and ensure effective project execution and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
Senior leader of Project Management (PM) team
Develop and maintain customer relationships, and assist with securing new business opportunities
Lead PM team to ensure projects comply with all Hardy Corporation and general contractor quality and safety standards, and operational requirements
Ability to effectively develop and coach direct reports
Oversee cost control and reporting for PM team, including change orders, profit projections, and project cash flow
Enforce adherence to contract requirements
Dispute resolution for issues requiring escalation beyond Project Managers
Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors spanning current and past projects
Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement within PM performance
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in commercial construction, manufacturing, or industrial experience
Minimum of 8 years leading an industrial or commercial team
5 years of experience developing customer relationships and new business
Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel
In-depth knowledge of estimating systems, software and protocol, and integration with project management
Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
In-depth understanding of contract language and mastery of subcontract negotiations
In-depth understanding of project risk management and risk mitigation
Experience and working knowledge for developing execution strategies from conceptual design documents to project completion
Preferred
4-year degree in Engineering, Building Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university
Experience in, and in depth understanding of, HVAC and Plumbing mechanical contracting, processes, methods, materials, and regulations
Working knowledge of pull planning, construction and project management software and tools
