Responsibilities

Designs and develops traffic signal plans including signal layouts, phasing, timing, and coordination to ensure safe and efficient movement of vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists
Assist in conducting traffic impact studies, signal warrant analyses, and corridor evaluations
Collect, process, and analyze traffic data including volume counts, speed studies, and crash data
Support the development of traffic models using tools such as Synchro, HCS, and VISSIM
Prepare technical reports, figures, and presentations for clients and stakeholders
Conduct field visits and site assessments as needed
Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers to support project delivery

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field
Engineer Intern (EI) certification required or in progress
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
2+ yrs experience with traffic engineering principles and software
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic GIS tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and grow in a fast-paced consulting environment
Ability to build strong relationships

Preferred

Internship or academic project experience involving FDOT standards or Florida-based transportation projects
Exposure to FDOT's Traffic Engineering Manual (TEM) or Plans Preparation Manual (PPM) is a plus
