Responsibilities

Work alongside some of the finest nurses and healthcare professionals in the nation while participating in activities that will strengthen clinical skills, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary communication

Placement opportunities include medical/surgical units, inpatient specialty departments, and clinic settings

Opportunity for continued employment following the end of the summer internship along with a potential RN offer

Required

Must be qualified to graduate from a baccalaureate nursing program or associate nursing program by December 2026 or May 2027, following the summer internship

Hold one of the following active certifications/licenses: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B), Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (EMT-P), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license

Active CPR certification: Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands-on learning) from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross and State of Iowa Mandatory Reporter-Dependent Adult and Child Abuse certifications

Commitment to work 30-36 hours per week for 10 weeks. Interns can expect to work all shifts, including Days, PMs, and nights, along with weekend and holiday rotations
