Responsibilities

Lead with a deployed engineering and technical team to architect, plan and execute field test and demonstration activities for an Autonomous Underwater Vessel (AUV) development program

Continuously drive test campaign progress by adjusting schedule and scope to manage real world effects, consulting with engineering teams

Specify, identify and establish temporary and enduring test facilities, including regulatory considerations, approvals and compliance

Conduct risk assessments for test and related operations, identifying and implementing mitigations

Support hiring, staffing, and asset/resource demand planning across maritime programs

Required

Proven leader and manager with the ability to master a technical system and support it in austere environments. Must demonstrate an innate drive to be self-sufficient across the breadth of a technical system

Strong aptitude for problem solving in unstructured situations at the interface of hardware, software, and networking. Ability to drive challenging and vague technical problems to clarity and resolution

Naturally inquisitive, able to independently research and learn new technical components or concepts

Ability to develop complex operational and logistics plans to move people and things quickly, over long distances, in unfamiliar locations

Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret/Top Secret security clearance

Willingness to travel up to 50%, including significant time spent offshore on vessels of all sizes

Preferred

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field

Experience developing high level/strategic plans that support company objectives and government customer needs in the pursuit of deploying, fielding, and operating robotic system or family of systems

Experience managing a group or groups of highly motivated, dedicated and intelligent individuals who operate and test complex systems

Strong mechanical aptitude with tools and electronics
