Financial Accountant

Boom Supersonic is building the world’s fastest airliner and is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance team. The role involves managing key areas of the monthly close process, analyzing business trends, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

Own key areas of the monthly close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
Evaluate and account for complex transactions—equity, investments, taxes, debt, leasing, various accruals, and more
Analyze business trends and operational data to ensure consistent and accurate accounting treatment
Help prepare financial statements and internal reports in compliance with US GAAP
Support external audit prep with thorough documentation and analysis
Research and resolve accounting questions with confidence and clarity
Continuously improve systems, processes, and controls to increase efficiency and accuracy
Collaborate across teams to support business needs and share accounting insight
Stay current on accounting standards and bring a learner’s mindset to new areas

Qualification

Required

Licensed CPA, with public accounting experience
Naturally detail-oriented, but never loses sight of the bigger picture
Strong with spreadsheets—pivot tables, lookups, and advanced formulas are second nature
Familiar with general ledger and procurement systems
Handles deadlines with focus and consistency—especially around close
Clear communicator, capable of working directly with leadership and cross-functional teams
Thrives in fast-paced, changing environments with a mindset for continual improvement
Known for being reliable, responsive, and proactive when supporting teammates
Demonstrates a strong work ethic and ambition, complemented by effective collaboration skills in a team setting
Excels in a high-energy, independent, and challenging work environment
To conform to U.S. Government aerospace technology export regulations (ITAR and EAR), applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State

Preferred

Prior experience in a manufacturing or aerospace business
Comfort navigating complex GL structures and multi-system environments
Track record of improving accounting processes or controls
Deep curiosity—someone who asks great questions and follows through to clarity
