ASSISTANT PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER

Responsibilities

You will coordinate the packaging and assembly of work documentation and materials to meet schedules, task breakdowns, material delivery deadlines, and tracking trade support for fabrication and procurement of parts
You will compile work packages that accompany the jobs through the duration of the present workload and prioritize their work to meet production schedules
You will ensure necessary material is present and available for WG-7 mechanics to perform their work
You will Identify and initiate action to obtain new material and direction for remanufacture or repair of job components
You will understand, implement, and comply with all rules and requirements for the ordering, storing, identifying, and handling of material
You will utilize vertical storage lift machines and accompanied computer software that contain parts and material including controlled Level 1 and Subsafe material, calibrated TMDE and long lead time parts
You will be required to coordinate, inventory, stock or manage pre-expended material areas and coordinate the maintenance of vertical storage lift machines and associated equipment

Must be a US Citizen

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present
You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
Exposure to grease, oil, cleaning solvents, and industrial noises generated by operating machinery, equipment, or tools is present in both the shop and the waterfront areas
The use of mobile handling equipment not limited to forklift driving; using electric and manual pallet jacks may be required in this job
Work occasionally requires working from uncomfortable and cramped positions, which involves stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching and climbing
Most work requires standing for long periods of time
May be required to travel as the need arises for purposes such as training, attendance at meetings, and participation in work efforts at other shore activities
