Responsibilities

Responsible for leading excellence for our growing specialty pharmacy program
Responsible for the development, and implementation of pharmacy services that advance clinical, operational, financial, safety, and regulatory performance, with a specific focus on specialty pharmacy and ambulatory pharmacy analytics and reporting
Apply data-driven methodologies to improve specialty pharmacy operations and monitor payer formulary and access changes
Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and serve as a bridge between clinical pharmacy practice and enterprise business objectives to improve patient access and sustainable program development
Identify prescribing trends, monitor specialty pharmacy capture rates and growth opportunities, perform analytics and financial reporting (including revenue and cost-savings analyses), oversee billing for pharmacist services, monitor quality and safety outcomes, engage with external stakeholders regarding payer and limited distribution drug access, and manage data reporting to third parties such as accreditation bodies, drug manufacturers, payers, and contract pharmacies

Required

Graduate Degree - Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy – Minimum
Post Graduate Year PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency
California Pharmacist license
Minimum of 2-year experience in outpatient pharmacy setting; specialty pharmacy experience preferred
Previous experience in Specialty or Outpatient Pharmacy business operations, financial analytics and reporting preferred
Possesses excellent patient service skills prioritizing patient care needs to support safe effective medication use
Collaborates effectively with internal teams and stakeholders to achieve program goals
Demonstrates understanding of importance of identifying opportunities to grow the specialty pharmacy
Apply critical thinking to analyze and interpret information and/or data. Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information for decision support
Demonstrates good decision-making/problem solving skills. Exhibits good clinical reasoning skills and judgments in managing patients with the highest medical complexity/acuity
Ability to convey and/or receive written/verbal information to/from various audiences in different formats. Communicates effectively and engages in positive inter/intra departmental interaction with peers, physicians, staff and patients
Initiate, plan, design, implement, and monitor project(s) Ability to manage projects, establish timeliness, analyze data relevant to areas of responsibility. Ability to function independently, ability to plan, organize, direct, monitor and evaluate assigned work
Possesses fiscal management skills and proven track record to prepare, monitor and control budgetary expenses and generate revenue
Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of State, Federal and Agency standards to comply with regulations
Ability to learn and adapt to the use of software, technology, and automated information systems in daily practice
Frequent sitting; walking, bending; reaching, occasional pushing, pulling, lifting of materials up to 50 pounds
Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including, telephones, pagers, fire alarms, and mechanical failure alarms
Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients, and other customers
Able to read information on medication labels

Preferred

specialty pharmacy experience preferred
Previous experience in Specialty or Outpatient Pharmacy business operations, financial analytics and reporting preferred
