CDI Specialist
UASI is dedicated to improving the quality and accuracy of clinical documentation through expert CDI consulting. They are seeking experienced Clinical Documentation Improvement professionals to collaborate with client facilities, enhancing documentation clarity and accuracy in medical records.
Responsibilities
Analyze medical records to ensure documentation supports quality care and appropriate reimbursement
Formulate compliant, clinically sound physician queries
Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff to promote accurate and complete documentation
Stay current on industry regulations and coding guidelines, including CMS and the Inpatient Prospective Payment System
Qualification
Required
Certification: CCDS or CDIP required (or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire)
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of CDI experience
Communication Skills: Strong ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers and staff
Tech Proficiency: Comfortable using MS Office, email, VPNs, virtual machines, two-factor authentication, and video conferencing tools (MS Teams, Zoom, etc.)
Preferred
Clinical Background: RN or BSN strongly preferred
