Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is seeking a Civil 3D Technician to join their Engineering Department. The role involves performing surface modeling, grading design, and preparing detailed civil deliverables for large-scale EPC projects, while collaborating with engineers and designers to develop accurate civil models and drawing packages.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Civil 3D models for grading, drainage, and site development

Generate and manage digital terrain models (DTMs), surfaces, and contour maps

Assist in the creation and annotation of civil drawings, including: Grading plans, Cut/fill maps, Earthwork balance figures, drainage layouts, and 3D views for constructability review

Extract quantities and generate detailed MTOs from Civil 3D models

Coordinate surface and utility data with piping, structural, and mechanical disciplines

Support revisions and updates throughout the project lifecycle

Follow company CAD standards, templates, and workflows

Participate in model reviews and design coordination meetings

Assist in the setup and maintenance of Civil 3D templates, styles, and data shortcuts

Required

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum 4 years of relevant civil drafting or design experience using Autodesk Civil 3D

Proficient in Civil 3D tools for surfaces, grading, and volume calculations

Experience producing construction documents and MTOs in a design office or EPC environment

Understanding of site development principles, grading, and drainage

Familiarity with coordinate systems, georeferencing, and survey data integration

Strong organizational and documentation skills

Operation and Systems Analysis

Good Communication Skills (Verbal and Written)

Preferred

Associate's degree or technical diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field

8 years of relevant civil drafting or design experience using Autodesk Civil 3D

Experience supporting energy, industrial, or infrastructure projects

Familiarity with Navisworks or InfraWorks for 3D coordination

Basic knowledge of civil codes, standards, and site permitting processes

Experience working within a project-wise or similar document control system
