Responsibilities

Understand the firm’s database infrastructure environment and technology modernization pathway
Work with application teams to help them migrate to the latest database products and versions on our private cloud or onto the public cloud
Use your expertise to help maximize the performance and resiliency of the application workloads
Monitor and optimize database performance, capacity, and scalability
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including query tuning, indexing, and deadlock resolution
Collaborate with developers to refine database schemas, optimize queries, and improve application performance
Ensure 24/7 availability and reliability for mission-critical systems through proactive monitoring and maintenance
Participate in cloud database administration on AWS (RDS, EC2) and Azure SQL Database
Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and operational procedures
Support release deployments, maintenance windows, and database upgrades after hours and weekends as needed
Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required

Formal training or certification on Infrastructure concepts and 5+ years applied experience
Must be a US Citizen and have lived in the US the past 7+ years consecutively, which the government requires as you will interact with government databases
Deep knowledge of managing and optimizing large-scale database environments
Expert technical expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, AWS and Azure database services
Deep knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
Drives to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of the product

Preferred

Financial or banking domain experience is a bonus
