They are seeking a Litigation Associate for their Labor and Employment department, responsible for handling various employment-related litigations and providing legal advice on employment law matters.

Responsibilities
Handling employment-related, civil rights and other municipal litigation from discovery through trial including drafting discovery motions, motions to dismiss and summary judgment motions
Providing legal advice and guidance on employment law matters, including but not limited to hiring practices, employee relations, terminations, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour issues
Handling employee disciplinary matters, labor grievances and arbitrations and collective bargaining negotiations
Handling cases before administrative tribunals such as the Public Employment Relations Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and New York State Division of Human Rights
Conducting legal research and analysis to support decision-making and provide recommendations to stakeholders
Providing legal advice regarding education related matters including special education services and handling impartial hearings
Collaborate with client’s internal stakeholders, including HR, management, and other legal teams, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the relevant state bar association
5-7 years of state and/or federal court litigation experience
Strong research and writing skills
Knowledge of state and federal court motion practice and procedures
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
Proven track record of managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Municipal, Employment and Education Law experience is a plus
