Responsibilities

Becomes familiar with, and abides by, all college policies with immediate priority given to those policies that govern interactions with colleagues, staff, administrators, and departments throughout the organization
Maintains professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators
Provides appropriate and timely feedback for all assignments
Returns graded assignments in a timely fashion per department standards
Maintains student attendance records (for Financial Aid purposes) and grades
Conducts a variety of appropriate evaluations of student performance
Informs students of progress-to-date periodically and assigns and submits grades by published deadlines
Assists in maintaining a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment
Prepares and submits incident reports to Dean of Student Services for inappropriate student behavior as defined by the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy
Maintains professional and collegial behavior
Handles/responds to student concerns/complaints, and responds to student communications and inquiries promptly (generally within 1-2 days)
Maintains professional appearance as defined by the discipline and/or College procedure
Completes all required employee trainings
Knows and enforces FERPA guidelines
Provides ADA accommodations as requested
Other job related duties as needed

Required

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
All employees are expected to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment. New employees must provide a valid Utah residential address within 30 days of their start date
Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution in Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or other computer-related field
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution plus two or more of the following with supporting documentation: Professional Certification in Computing (national, state, regional), Teaching excellence award, Computer or technology related college-level coursework beyond a Bachelor's degree, equivalent to at least 18 semester hours
Paid industry experience within the last five years in any of the following areas: Web-Based Programming and Development, both client and server side, Database Design, Management and Administration, Software Design, Development and Engineering, Information Systems or Technology, Linux System Administration, MS Server Network Infrastructure, CompTIA Security+, Cisco Security

Preferred

Recent full-time or full-time equivalent teaching experience in CSIS or closely related field at a regionally accredited higher education institution
