The City of New York is seeking an Agency Attorney I for the Housing Authority Law Department’s Contracts Division. The attorney will perform transactional legal work, draft and negotiate contracts, and assist with corporate governance matters, all while working under the supervision of the Deputy General Counsel.

Responsibilities
Draft, negotiate and/or review contracts, solicitations, requests for proposals, board resolutions and opinions of counsel
Perform legal research and advise on questions raised by program based on federal regulations, state law and NYCHA’s contract procedure regulation
Analyze prelitigation construction claims
Qualification
Required
Admission to the New York State Bar
One year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar
Six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne (30086)
Incumbents must remain Members of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment
Preferred
A critical and strategic thinker with excellent drafting skills and the ability to conduct thorough factual investigations
Ability to pay attention to detail, spot issues and communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to work independently and as a team player
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet tight deadlines
