Responsibilities
Prepares and edits documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to established guidelines. Coordinate with warfighting subject matter experts to improve the quality of tactical and technical information related to Naval operations and equipment
Maintains the highest tactical, technical and literary quality of finished products and ensures compliance with Federal laws and regulations as well as Department of Defense directives governing national security and publication of printed matter
Ensures documents conform to the Style Guide and Government Printing Office (GPO) Style Manual, which provide standard writing guidance and format
May be required to modify existing documents to meet specific program needs
May be tasked to collaborate on presentations or use information contained therein to supplement other documents
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
At least four (4) years of U.S. Navy experience as military, civil service, or contractor
Eight (8) years of technical writing experience using the Microsoft Office suite of tools in the primary performance of duties
Capability for preparation of briefings, reports, and correspondence that are technically correct
Proficient with common productivity software, including the Microsoft Office suite
Excellent communication skills
Existing Security Clearance Required: This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must already possess an active or interim security clearance
