Bookkeeping / Payroll Specialist
SEK CPAs & Advisors is a premier CPA and advisory firm with over 60 years of experience. They are seeking a Bookkeeping / Payroll Specialist to provide full-service accounting support, including bookkeeping, payroll preparation, and financial statement generation for a variety of clients.

Responsibilities
Provide Full-Service Accounting Support: Assist a variety of clients across multiple industries with bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping
Maintain Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Record transactions, reconcile accounts, and ensure the accuracy of financial data for client businesses
Process Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage vendor invoices, client payments, and monitor outstanding balances to maintain cash flow integrity
Prepare & Review Payroll: Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Manage Payroll Tax Reporting: Prepare and file payroll tax returns, including federal and state withholdings, unemployment taxes, and other employer obligations
Assist with Quarterly & Year-End Bookkeeping Reviews: Conduct financial reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with tax and accounting principles
Prepare & Process Tax Forms: Review and process necessary filings such as 1099s, W-2s, and other reporting obligations
Set Up & Maintain Client Accounts: Assist with onboarding new clients into SEK’s accounting and payroll applications, ensuring proper setup and data integrity
Generate & Review Financial Statements: Prepare financial statements for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards
Utilize Accounting & Payroll Software: Leverage QuickBooks Desktop & Online, Microsoft Excel, and other financial tools to manage data efficiently
Maintain Client Relationships & Service Excellence: Respond to client inquiries, provide guidance on financial matters, and deliver high-quality service with professionalism
Support Process Improvement & Compliance: Stay up to date on accounting regulations and payroll laws, assisting with process improvements and best practices for clients
Qualification
Required
Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
Ability to maintain a positive working relationship with clients to promote a quality of service image
Accounting experience preferably in a public accounting environment
Experience reconciling bank accounts and maintaining a general ledger
Experience preparing payroll, payroll taxes, quarterly returns and W-2s
Proficiency with Excel required
Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information and to demonstrate a high level of professionalism
Detail orientation with strong organizational, communication and multi-tasking skills
