IT Systems Engineer, Launch

Responsibilities
Optimize and consolidate existing automation scripts and tooling used to simultaneously support multiple classes of launch vehicles
Provide advanced support for Linux and Windows administration and troubleshooting
Increase mission critical IT infrastructure maturity with focus on alignment with NIST cybersecurity frameworks
Integrate industry-standard DevOps tooling and processes with existing procedures to streamline launch support infrastructure deployment and refresh
Collaborate with software and controls teams to integrate IT infrastructure build and configuration processes into standardized systems deployment and verification pipelines
Provide real-time IT support during launch and test operations, troubleshooting networking, hardware, and software issues in potentially high stress, time sensitive situations
Enhance network monitoring capabilities by identifying operational blind-spots, solving them with custom scripting, filtering, and efficient dashboards
Research and implement new virtualization, storage, and networking technologies in development environments for potential adoption
Maintain and enhance detailed IT system CMDBs, procedures, and contingency plans
Support rapid infrastructure expansion, providing design guidance, topology diagrams, and project coordination
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics, information systems, or other engineering discipline of and 3+ years of systems engineering experience; OR 5+ years of systems engineering experience in lieu of a degree
Experience with virtualization or containerization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, Docker, or Openshift)
Experience with Active Directory and multi-platform authentication/identification environments
Working knowledge of GitOps concepts, tools, and processes
Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Preferred
Experience with Linux and Windows server administration
Excellent experience with custom scripting (Bash/Powershell/Python) and automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet)
Exposure to real-time systems and industrial telemetry networks
Experience with Atlassian Tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket
Expertise in creating repeatable, reliable, scalable systems architectures, with high availability, fault tolerance, and performance tuning
Experience implementing layer 3 network topologies
Experience working with Firewall administration
Experience working within compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO or similar)
