The Superintendent’s responsibility is to supervise the field construction of a project and to ensure timely completion within budget and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Schedules subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion

Communicates with project team regarding ASI’s, RFI’s and material submittals

Prepares materials take off and schedules updates

Reviews daily written documentation of project activities, daily budget tracking system, input of man hours, production and any other needed information

Walks assigned jobsites daily to monitor activities and all personnel on site

Ensures that the jobsite is always kept in a clean and organized manner

Counsels and reviews employees’ performances as required by company policy

Requests information and follows through with a timely response

Displays a diplomatic and positive relationship with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspection teams, subordinates and supervisors

Maintains a high level performance under pressure, a calm and authoritative demeanor in all instances

Monitors and enforces OSHA and Company policy safety requirements daily

Performs daily visual verification that product produced on assigned sites is of the highest quality

Understands, supervises and monitors maintenance of traffic applications

Plans and maintains dewatering systems

Recognizes final product quality requirements and ensures that all aspects meet company’s high standards

Proficiency in rapid site assessment for issues that could be detrimental to positive production and profitability

Required

Must have at least 10+ years of experience in all aspects of civil site construction within the parameters and conditions of Central Florida, with at least 5 experience years as a Superintendent

Must have exceptional organization skills with keen attention to detail, deadlines and accuracy

Must be proficient in Excel and Outlook software

Experience in reading and interpreting construction documents to include permits, specifications, design standards, detail drawings, plan drawings, budgets, project schedules and contracts

Experience writing professional business correspondence

Experience with high proficiency in clearing and grubbing, earth-moving operations, dewatering, all underground utility systems to include class V fire line, roadway preparation and construction, project close out and inspection

Good driving history

Must have and display the ability to maintain self-composure and calm demeanor in all stressful situations
