Advanced Energy is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of precision power conversion solutions. They are seeking Electrical Design Engineering Interns to support development activities across their North American design sites, where interns will collaborate with experienced engineering teams on high-performance power conversion solutions.

Electrical & Electronic Manufacturing

Responsibilities

Active participant in a core team to meet schedule, cost, and customer satisfaction goals

Assisting in the development, testing, and de-bugging of prototype power supply units

Analyze test data and reports against functional and performance specifications

Interfacing with internal departments to ensure cost and schedule goals are met

Circuit design of analog and digital circuits, EMI filters, and power circuits

Development and implementation of control algorithms

Design and analysis of magnetic components

Modeling and simulation of devices, circuits or systems using commercial or proprietary tools

Required

Ability to work in a lab environment debugging circuits and evaluating product spec compliance using tools including oscilloscopes, power meters, multimeters, logic analyzers, and firmware interface tools

Demonstrated proficiency with Windows-based platforms and with computer-based design and analysis tools, working knowledge of MS Office Suite

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to meet schedule requirements and define priorities without direct supervision

Candidates working towards MS or Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering. Preference will be given to those with a Power Electronics and/or Controls focus, but other fields consistent with Advanced Energy's needs will also be considered
