Responsibilities

Diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing radar and positioning systems
Performing preventive maintenance inspections on equipment and determining what maintenance is needed
Researching and ordering replacement components and spare parts for radar and position control system
Utilize safe rigging and lifting techniques
Setting up and testing various types of mechanical equipment to determine equipment specifications and performance
Recommend improvements to maintenance methods, system and equipment performance as well as operational efficiencies
Analyzes work problems and recommends solutions
Train and mentor technicians
Follows all OSHA Safety Regulations
Safely utilizes various measuring, diagnostic, and testing equipment to help provide efficient solutions
Maintains a strict schedule in order to successfully complete assignments on time
Other duties as assigned by Management or Supervisor
Effective communication both verbally and written and understands the System Engineering process to include the ability to present/coordinate PDR’s, CDR’s, etc. and conduct FAT’s
Excellent abilities regarding project/job management with experience in the procurement, cost and budget process
Must possess strong computer knowledge of; a. Mathcad, b. Excel, c. Pro Engineer, specifically Creo Elements and Structure, d. AutoCAD, e. Microsoft Office
Experience in fabrication techniques, welding principles and integration of designs and can direct personnel regarding fabrication, integration, execution and procedural implementation of those designs
Working knowledge of documentation and configuration control
Experience in Model Making and/or fiberglass/composite design is preferred

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
1-3 years' experience desired
Strong computer knowledge of Mathcad, Excel, Pro Engineer (specifically Creo Elements and Structure), AutoCAD, Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of documentation and configuration control
Ability to perform static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems
Knowledge of mechanical equipment to allow for troubleshooting and new or modified design implementation
Excellent skills with 3D modeling and 2D CAD applications
Knowledge of ME field of concepts, practices and procedures to include a wide degree of creativity and latitude
Ability to work individually and as a team member
Ability to take direction but also lead and direct the work of others
Self-initiative is a must
Effective communication both verbally and written

Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of placement into this position
Must be capable of working independently with minimal or no supervision
Must be willing to work overtime when required
Must be capable of regularly lifting up to 50 pounds
Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a respirator
Must be capable of regularly climbing extension ladders, tower ladders, stepladders and stairs
Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitively
Requires the ability to regularly kneel
Requires the ability to repetitively stretch or reach horizontally or vertically
Must be capable to walk extensively
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress

Preferred
