Responsibilities

Must have a valid Florida Driver’s license
Must have a valid Florida Driver's License and obtain a Florida Commercial Driver's License Class "B" with endorsement code "X", without air brake restrictions, within 180 days after hire and must pass a D.O.T. (Department of Transportation) Physical every two (2) years or Class “A” with air brakes dependent upon company location
Must be able to write and print legibly
Must be able to read at normal comprehensive level
Must be mechanically inclined
Must have the ability to perform duties responsibly and safely
Company union forms are required including wearing various forms of protective equipment to include steel toed shoes, headgear, safety glasses and various other items
Must be capable of utilizing company mobile device
Must have a keen sense of smell and adequate hearing and eyesight
Must possess tact and suitable personality for customer contact
Must be in good physical condition and capable of doing manual labor
Must be able to read street maps and travel to dispatched locations
Must be capable of being trained in using all types of equipment and instruments associated with performance of duties
Must be capable of reading gauges and meters
Must be able and willing to direct the work of others in equal or lower classifications
Must be capable and willing to obtain certification to render first aid, artificial resuscitation, etc
Must be willing and able to work overtime as required
Must become familiar with company’s policies, practices and procedures
Must be capable to distinguish between propane and natural gas and recognize differences in their application, utilization and measuring and handling
Must possess calm judgment and be willing to act on it in emergencies
Must be capable to identify meters and regulators by size and type
Must be capable to visually identify propane tanks by size and type
Must be familiar with provisions in and application NFPA 54, NFPA 58, Florida Building Fuel Gas Code, and any state required gas code applicable to their job
Must be familiar with piping, valving, operation, and maintenance of company’s propane bulk plant, filling station and service trucks
Must be capable of installing and removing cylinder gas systems, tank and meter systems and bulk usage systems
Must be capable to make clear and legible drawings and/or written records of work operations
Must become capable of operating and performing minor maintenance on propane equipment
Must be capable to use pipe locating equipment and leak detection and locating equipment
Must become certified to perform P.E. heat fused and mechanical joints
Complete work orders properly documenting materials used and time expended
Disconnect gas service if no payment arrangements can be made
Perform tank, equipment and appliance maintenance
Visually inspect tanks per ASME and DOT regulations
Drive a bulk truck and deliver gas on an as needed basis
Safe operation of boom truck to remove and install customer tanks
Perform other duties as assigned by Service Manager and/or District Manager
Required to be on Call Duty rotation
Must be able to pass the requirements outlined in the Training Grid associated with this position
