Associate Software Engineer, Full-Stack Development
The Philadelphia Phillies are seeking an Associate Software Engineer for their Research and Development department. This role involves building data-driven applications that support the front office staff, scouts, and coaches, translating complex datasets into interactive products to enhance decision-making.

Responsibilities
Contribute to the design and development of web-based applications used by Baseball Operations
Assist in building and maintaining back-end APIs that power our front-end applications
Collaborate with engineers and product stakeholders to translate requirements into intuitive and engaging user interfaces
Apply strong design principles to ensure a clean and seamless user experience
Learn and apply full-stack development best practices, including participating in code reviews, documentation, and testing
Qualification
Required
Possess or are pursuing a BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages (our stack is Python, Typescript, and Go)
Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Postgres)
Familiarity with web development concepts, API design, and UI/UX principles
Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong desire to learn new technologies
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Self-motivated with a strong sense of curiosity
Preferred
Experience with modern front-end frameworks like React or Vue
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs using frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Express
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS) and containerization (Docker)
A demonstrated passion for baseball and sports analytics
