Assistant Director, Equal Opportunity Office

Responsibilities
Conducts investigations of complaints of discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct
Provides training pertaining to compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, Board of Regents policies, and University policies relating to discrimination and harassment on the basis of an individual’s protected status
Develops and maintains policies pertaining to compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, Board of Regents policies, and University policies relating to discrimination and harassment on the basis of an individual’s protected status
Respond to questions from members of the UGA community and others on a wide variety of issues relating to matters within the purview of the UGA EOO
Assists in the collection and analysis of statistics relevant to matters within the purview of EOO. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of necessary reports and records
Perform other job-related duties as required or as directed by the Director
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience
Law degree (JD) from an American Bar Association, accredited law school, and a member in good standing of a state bar association
Two years of progressive experience in the legal or compliance field
Subject matter expert on civil rights, anti-discrimination, and anti-harassment matters in higher education as they relate to the University community and experience assisting in institutional compliance and providing guidance on relevant non-discrimination, anti-harassment, and civil rights laws, including, but not limited to, Title IX, Title VII, the ADA, and other applicable laws and regulations
Demonstrated analytical, communication, problem-solving, project planning, and implementation skills
Experience with case management tracking
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
Experience with civil rights, employment law, equal opportunity work, and/or higher education
Proven experience and technical expertise in investigation, resolution, and remediation of complaints of discrimination and harassment
Experience with building and delivering education, training, and prevention programs in areas of non-discrimination and anti-harassment
