The intern will work under the direction of a Senior Mechanical Engineer, participating in mechanical design tasks and gaining hands-on experience in the field of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

Participation in mechanical design of building HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems including calculations and layouts

Production of BIM drawings using Revit

Performs field work (evaluation of existing sites) as directed by senior engineer

Assists with engineering duties on projects of various complexity

Performs other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staff

Participates and contributes to intern design project as part of an intern team of different disciplines

Required

Currently enrolled in a mechanical engineering or equivalent post-secondary program with the availability for a full-time summer internship is required

Candidates should be highly motivated and dependable students who are taking or have taken mechanical engineering design type courses

Proficient in drafting with basic understanding of Revit or other drafting software, and the use of it as a drafting/design tool

Ability to participate and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary project team setting

Ability to take direction, follow process, and accept feedback and suggestions from senior engineers

Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite

Strong motivation to learn

Preferred

Preference for beginning mechanical engineering courses such as Thermodynamics or Statics/Dynamics along with some drafting experience

Prefer experience with Revit
