Part time Research Assistant, School of Science & Engineering
The University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking a part-time Research Assistant for the AI-enforced Oral Health Project. This role involves supporting the design and development of an AI-enabled oral health application, implementing data processing modules, and assisting in data analytics to enhance predictive accuracy.

Supporting the design, development, and testing of the AI-enabled oral health application
Implementing and refining AI-driven data processing and recommendation modules for personalized health guidance
Assisting in data preparation, quality control, and analytics to enhance predictive accuracy
Collaborating with the team to document system architecture, model performance, and user interaction insights
Other Duties as Assigned
Qualification
Required
strong expertise in software engineering
expertise in artificial intelligence
expertise in data-driven application design
Neuro-Symbolic AI skills—combining deep learning with knowledge graph reasoning and domain knowledge representation
hold or be pursuing a Ph.D. or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
experience in machine learning frameworks
experience in backend system development
experience in applied AI systems
Preferred
prior work in healthcare informatics
prior work in AI-assisted clinical decision-making
