Lead Maintenance Engineer
Didlake, Inc. is a non-profit rehabilitation services organization dedicated to enriching the lives of people with disabilities. The Lead Maintenance Engineer is responsible for providing technical direction to a team of engineers, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring that all engineering processes and standards are adhered to while overseeing maintenance and repair operations.

Responsibilities
Provide technical direction and leadership in-field of a team of engineers
Mentor, guide, and develop junior engineering staff
Identify solutions to quickly repair or mitigate equipment failure within 24 hours of failure
Ensure that all engineering procedures and guidelines are followed and carried out to the fullest and highest standards
Review and verify that all preventive maintenance conducted on all equipment has been carried out to meet DIDLAKE standards
Perform operation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of all mechanical air conditioning and heating systems, air handling units, pumps, heat exchangers, medical refrigeration units, hot/cold water lines, expansion joints, plumbing, and electric motors
Rebuild pumps, install mechanical seals, and pump alignment using proper tools as necessary
Troubleshoot and make necessary repairs to refrigeration systems
Troubleshoot and repair electric, electronic, and pneumatic control systems
Possess adequate sight, hearing, and speaking capabilities to maintain a safe working condition and be able to distinguish wire colors and component color codes
Perform routine preventive maintenance duties as scheduled including but be limited to filter changes, lubrication, control, and performance checks using facility BAS and work order system
Evacuate refrigeration systems, perform refrigeration leak tests, recover refrigerant, and replace refrigerant compressors following the most recent state and federal regulatory requirements for service and repair practices of refrigeration systems and components
Perform maintenance and minor repairs on centrifugal, screws, reciprocal, and open drive chiller systems and refrigeration systems to include various sizes of rooftop package units, split systems, air handlers, computer room systems, low-pressure steam systems, hot water, and chilled water systems, process chilled water systems, pneumatic, mechanical and electronic systems
Maintain a safe and accident-free workplace and exercise common sense and good judgment when performing duties
Perform snow removal of the exterior/grounds, sidewalks, etc., when necessary
Respond to emergency situations to mitigate related issues e.g., flooding, snow removal, etc
Attend safety meetings and participate in the emergency response team
Comply with and enforce policy and procedures manual and safety guidelines
Understand the difference between a policy and a procedure
