Capital Project Manager
Colgate University is seeking a Project Manager for the Capital Project Management group to oversee renovations and new construction projects on campus. The Project Manager will be responsible for project programming, managing the overall design process, and overseeing construction and inspections related to new construction and existing facility renovations.

Responsibilities
Manages construction projects on campus as assigned by the AVP of Facilities and Capital Projects
Serves as a liaison between Architects/Engineers, Contractors, and University stakeholders during major construction projects. This includes new construction and major renovations of existing facilities
Provides on-site inspection/coordination of construction projects on Colgate University owned facilities to assure compliance with plans and/or specifications for construction projects. Inspects all work-in-progress at construction sites
Serves as a team problem solver with contractors/sub-contractors and A/E teams
Verifies and approves applications for payment, negotiates necessary change orders
Issues weekly progress reports to immediate supervisor and University Administration
Assures timely completion of projects within pre-approved budgets
Reviews shop drawings; maintains project files and close out documentation
Confirms compliance with ADA, building, life safety codes and with internal security / safety requisites
Monitors the progress of projects under construction and follow-up to insure user satisfaction, quality control, and compliance within the budget
Participates in the selection of potential bidders/contractors through careful review of plans and specifications
Prepares required cost reports and maintains appropriate files
Performs related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
A minimum of 5 years of related experience in project management, construction administration, architecture, engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Demonstrated progressive project experience with increasing project complexity required
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at various phases of development required
Must possess an intimate knowledge of all elements of planning, design, and construction, i.e. methods, systems, materials, contract enforcement and building code requirements
Demonstrated competence with project management software applications such as ProCore, CMiC, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with campus groups and facilities department constituencies; the ability to work independently, and a willingness to assume significant responsibility required
A minimum of an Associate's degree, or equivalent is required
Preferred
Previous experience in a post-secondary environment is highly desirable
Project Management Professional certification is desirable
LEED AP professional highly desirable
