The City University of New York is inviting applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor rank in the Department of Computer Science. The successful candidate will focus on developing a strong research program in cyber security, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and collaborate with colleagues within the CUNY system.

Develop a strong research program and a commitment to obtain external grants

Develop collaborations with colleagues at both Hunter and throughout the CUNY system

Teach core undergraduate computer science courses as well as electives (undergraduate and graduate) within their area of research

Share responsibility for committee and other departmental assignments

Required

A Ph.D. degree in computer science or related field, either in hand, or expected in or before Summer 2026

the ability to teach successfully

independent research record in an area of cyber security

successful track record within systems (including high performance computing, parallel computation, etc.)

research expertise in computer networking, network security, software security, secure operating systems, quantum computing, and secure software engineering
