MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ANALYST (FACILITIES & ASSETS)
The U.S. Border Patrol, part of the Department of Homeland Security, is seeking a Management and Program Analyst for their Facilities & Assets division in Washington, D.C. The role involves serving as an expert analyst and advisor on Asset Management matters, resolving complex policy questions, and enhancing operational effectiveness for USBP programs.

Responsibilities
Utilizing and monitoring sophisticated management information systems, such as System Application and Products (SAP), Project Management tracking systems such as Integrated Logistics Support System (ILSS) to monitor, assess, sustain, dispose, and report in activities and analyze data for reporting to management
Coordinating continuously with CBP and DHS Program Management Office counterparts at the HQ and Sector levels to maintain situational awareness, address problems or challenges proactively, and monitor compliance with established policies and agreements
Planning and conducting special audits, providing expert advice to USBP management, and developing and evaluating policies in assigned program areas
Analyzing and formulating organizational requirements for resource management of information, and to support allocation targets for national and international mission requirements

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Overseeing property within the organization, including administratively controlled and operational assets; Developing short- and long-term Asset Management (AM) strategies for USBP property accountability and auditing purposes; Determining applicability and effect of new or proposed legislation, executive orders, and DHS directives; Preparing comments, impact statements, and recommendations for USBP management considerations and implementation

Background Investigation: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity
Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years
Probationary Period: All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment
