Assistant Professor: Tenure-track: Mechanical Engineering (ME)
The University of New Mexico-Los Alamos (UNM-LA) is inviting applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in Mechanical Engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor. The role involves teaching courses, engaging in service, and participating in professional development activities, while also having opportunities for curriculum development and student advising.

Responsibilities
Teach courses in Mechanical Engineering such as Mechanical Engineering Design I and II, Engineering Statics, and possibly courses in related disciplines based on the candidate’s qualifications and interests
Engage in service and professional development activities in accordance with established workload policies
Participate in student advising, faculty governance committees, and other academic and institutional support activities
Supervise internships, participate in curriculum development, train and mentor adjunct faculty, and attend forums and meetings
Participate in initiatives related to undergraduate research, grant-writing, and serve on additional department and college committees and boards as requested
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering field by application date
Preferred
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering by application date
Experience teaching engineering lecture and laboratory courses at a post-secondary institution, including upper-division undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering
Demonstrated evidence of experience in curriculum development, student mentoring, and/or undergraduate research
Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
