Industrial Automation Engineer Technician DEGREE NOT REQUIRED

Impact Guard is a Pittsburgh-based manufacturing company focused on innovative composite materials. They are seeking an Industrial Automation Engineer Technician to work on automation programming and various manufacturing projects, from concept to installation.

Manufacturing

Responsibilities

Perform PLC and HMI programming with Ignition software, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting on machines, production lines, conveyor systems, etc
Integrate various instrumentations such as pressure sensors, load cells, flow meters, etc
Work safely in proximity to a variety of voltages such as 24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC, single phase and 3-phase
Interpret electrical drawings and documentation for custom machines, systems, and products
Configure controls components such as VFDs, servo drives, machine vision systems, robot controllers, field IO racks, etc
Properly use manuals for proper installation, programming, and troubleshooting of components
Create OEM manuals, documentation, SOPs, etc
Conduct operator training and technical instruction for users
Collaborate with team members as needed to identify and solve issues
Provide troubleshooting to follow a problem to the source and solve the issue
Ensure installed products meet quality and scope expectations
Follow quality control standards and check lists
Learn to recognize and communicate design changes to team members
Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and updated technology
Other duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma; Associate Degree preferred
0-3 years experience
Experience with Ignition software is required
Advanced proficiency with personal computers to include Microsoft Office, configuration, networking, IP Addresses, etc
Possess electrical aptitude and willingness to perform hands on work
Experience reading and interpreting manuals and electrical drawings required
Ability to understand and interpret scope of work for specific tasks
Ability to follow work direction and prioritize assigned tasks
Ability to perform mathematical calculations, graphing, and scaling accurately
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to work well both independently and as a team
Ability to meet deadlines
Willingness to stretch current abilities to learn new skills

Preferred

PLC and HMI software such as Siemens is preferred
Possess relevant programming certifications or coursework preferred
Working experience with Python or other programming languages would be preferred
