Director, Quality & Compliance

The Blackhawk Group is redefining performance in aviation, seeking a Director of Quality & Compliance to lead their enterprise-wide Quality and Compliance department for MRO operations. This role involves ensuring adherence to FAA and other regulatory standards while leading a high-performing team and partnering with various stakeholders to uphold safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Drive Enterprise Quality Leadership: Develop and execute The Blackhawk Group’s Quality & Compliance strategy — aligning with business goals, FAA requirements, and OEM standards
Unify the QMS: Standardize and maintain an integrated Quality Management System components across all MRO sites to ensure consistency, scalability, and audit readiness
Champion Regulatory Compliance: Oversee all FAA Part 145/43/65 programs and related EASA and international standards; provide executive oversight of the FAA Drug & Alcohol Testing Program (Part 120)
Develop & Empower Teams: Lead Chief Inspectors, QA Managers, and Technical Training functions; build a cohesive, high-performing quality organization
Audit, Analyze, Improve: Direct internal and external audits, drive CAPA programs, and use data-driven insights to eliminate systemic quality issues
Integrate Safety & Quality: Partner with HR and EHS to align the Safety Management System (SMS) with maintenance operations, reinforcing a proactive safety culture
Partner Across Functions: Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to embed quality assurance throughout every maintenance process
Represent Blackhawk: Serve as the primary FAA liaison and customer contact for all quality, compliance, and audit matters

Required

Bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance, Engineering, or related technical discipline
15+ years of progressive aviation maintenance or quality leadership experience, including 8+ years in senior management
Proven track record managing multi-site Part 145 repair stations and enterprise QMS programs
Strong working knowledge of FAA, EASA, ISO, and SMS quality systems
Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills with a passion for mentoring and driving improvement

Preferred

Advanced degree
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate
IA a plus
ASQ certification (CQE, CQM/OE) or equivalent
