Responsibilities
Provide design, modeling and documentation services for our telecom design team working on advanced facilities projects
Document telecom design and expand your BIM skillset by working with other BIM designers supporting the project
Create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines as well as creating 2D construction drawings
Coordinate with other designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers who are all on the same Jacobs design team
Turn the design intent of senior telecom design staff into constructable deliverables including clash-free 3D models
Qualification
Required
High school graduate or equivalent
At least 8 years of BIM design experience
At least 4 years of relevant experience in telecommunications systems design and construction industry
Understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions
Understanding of design and construction specifications and their function
Understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment
Experience following client design and modeling standards
Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided markups and/or verbal direction requests
Willingness to learn
Preferred
At least 6 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience
Understanding of clean room and data center environments
Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom, and audio-visual systems
Knowledge and design experience with life safety and security systems, fire alarm, access control, closed-circuit television (CCTV)
Knowledge of control systems and network components and topology
